On The Brink Of Boring

L.A. Noire, Rockstar's latest masterpiece, is out in two days, on May 16th, 2011. The creators of the famous Grand Theft Auto, Bully and Red Dead series' have put their brilliant minds together once more to bring you a detective game with a large world ready for you to explore.

On the not-so-good side, Brink, Bethesda's latest game, has received negative reviews from both game critics such as GameSpot, who gave the game a 6.0/10, and IGN, who also gave the game 6.0/10, as well as users, who have said the game has been a "displeasure", and the "biggest let-down in Bethesda's history". I wasn't expecting the game to be good, as it didn't look all that original or entertaining, but I didn't expect a game made by Bethesda to get a 6.0. Let's hope for some positive reviews from their next three games which are set to come out later this year: Rage, The Witcher 2 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Those are three of the classes from Brink, all of which look pretty cool, I'll be honest, but the game itself is far from cool. If you do plan on picking up this game, buy it on PlayStation 3, because you get a free copy for the PC as well, if you link your PSN to your Steam account. You could buy it on PS3, link it to your Steam account (which are free to make), redeem the code and get it on your PC for free, and then if you really don't like it you could always sell it for trade-in value at your local EB Games/GameStop, or you could sell it on eBay or Kijiji, just make sure to be honest and mention that you've already used the PC code.

In other news, I've been playing through Portal 2, and I must say, it is one of the best games this year. There are plenty of brilliant puzzles, and the game itself is an artistic masterpiece, and the Co-Op offline mode is a blast. The game is much longer than it's prequel, Portal, and it looks like it's going to be a contender for Game of the Year on most sites, as well as my personal GOTY awards.
